When we started researching and developing motorcycle tours in Namibia in 1992 our primary focus was on motorcycling. The first tour that we established was the Namibia Classic Tour, which to date forms part of our programme and has remained almost unchanged, later on we added the Victoria Falls Tour , Silvester, Windhoek Cape Town tour, etc. One of the most memorable tours has to be the Kaokoland Tour, which catered primarily for the more experienced enduro-riders. A dream tour, plenty of adventure and not to be attempted on one's own, added to that extreme landscapes, amazing lodges and our own equipped outdoor camps make this tour an absolute highlight within our range of offers. Due to the properties of this tour unfortunately only a few drivers will complete this tour in a relaxed manner or without having faced some form of danger.

In order to offer non-motorcycle riders the opportunity to participate in this adventure, Ralf decided to offer the Kaokoland Tour by 4x4 vehicle. We apply the same tried and tested principles - with GPS, Roadbook and without the constraints of group travel - the self-driven Toyota Landcruisers will take you across landscapes which most tourists will probably never have the privilege of experiencing.

Gravel Travel has been associated with the Lüneburg ADAC Centre for Driving Safety from the very beginning and all participants will be able to attend the extensive preparation course that the centre offers.

We also believe that this will enhance you ability to appreciate the finer and more important details of the surrounding beauty and will allow you the ability to experience the divine connection between nature and humanity.
